General involvement |
- Invite your child to give to the poor at Christmas; allow your child to decide the charity to receive the gift.
- Have each family member commit to a new way to participate in the life of your parish.
- Discuss with your child how to take care of creation.
- Encourage them to be generous with the poor and needy.
- Give example to your child by sharing your time, treasure and talents with the Church.

| Talk about how we belong to a family just as Jesus did. |
- Have each family member show one thing they will do this week to show love to another. At the end of the week, put a star next to each success.
- Write a secret note for each family member and write one way in which that person shows you love them. Hide the note somewhere where he/she will find it as a special surprise.

| Recognize the responsibility to care for God's creation. |
- Talk about what it means to use something that belongs to someone else. How should you treat it? What should you do if you see that it may be harmed or broken?
- Discuss as a family some ways you could show God that you appreciate all of creation. What are some ways you could take better care of creation?

| Share ways they can help others in their families, and class, and neighborhood. |
- Talk about ways that each member of your family shows love to others in the family, in the school, in the neighborhood.

| Discuss Bible stories that show how people help others. |
- Read to your child stories from the Gospels that show how Jesus cares for others.

| 2. Christian Morality |

General involvement |
- Make a commitment with your child about one virtue you are going to work on during the week or about a bad habit you are struggling to overcome.
- Watch a family movie together, then talk about the movie; show the values and the anti-values which are present.
- Tell your child about the life of Jesus and how He taught us how to live.
- Talk about the qualities of Mary.

Make a list of everyone and everything you love and put a circle around that list. |
| Learn through stories of Jesus how to love others in their families and class. |

- Have your child be friends with Jesus. Ask your child to make sure he/she does at least one nice thing for someone else everyday.

Talk about God in the family and with your friends so that your child can learn to talk about God naturally. |
| Learn to say "I'm sorry" when we have not been nice to others. |
Encourage your child to say “I am sorry” when he/she has not be nice. Be an example of that to him/her. |
